Creating

Our flagship program, Where I Live, was developed on the theme “What could help my community? What can I do to help make a difference?” Engaging more than 20,000 people to date, Where I Live helps participants learn to combine image and text to communicate their ideas and views, giving them a voice to help make a difference in their lives and communities.

Responding

Responding to requests to enrich the work of ongoing projects and initiatives, MABP has partnered with the City University of New York (CUNY), the Mayor’s Office of Paris, and the U.S. Department of Education’s Arts for All program, to name a few. As an example of our impact, we accomplished _____________ working with __________, and positively affected the urban planning choices of the City of Paris for some of its most vulnerable citizens.

Sustaining

By providing professional development workshops, MABP sustains its commitment to innovative instruction and engagement. With programs such as Youth in Communities/Youth Leaders, MABP brings training and support to institutions such as The Writer’s Workshop, the U.S. Department of Education, CUNY and Le Centre de la Gabrielle, an organization that provides support services to the mentally challenged in the Paris suburbs. We provide dynamic and innovative opportunities to enrich the ongoing work of a wide variety of organizations.

Imagining

We are currently in development on exciting new works, such as Talking Trees/Who’s Talking. Based on an art installation that combines the visual with the auditory, participants use sound recordings that relate personal stories in a myriad of languages, helping them recognize variance and distinctions in spoken and in written voice, enhancing the development of observation, contemplative and imaginative thinking, deep listening and empathy.
